The historic Mount Hurtle Winery in Woodcroft, South Australia, has been the home of Geoff Merrill Wines since 1985. Geoff began his career in the early 70's and eventually made his way to Hardy's Reynella where he was the Chief Winemaker prior to purchasing Mt Hurtle. He began producing wines under the Geoff Merrill label in 1980 while still at Hardy's, then moved to Mt Hurtle in 1987 after the renovations were complete.

Today, the Mt Hurtle Winery is an oasis in the middle if the suburban sprawl. The Winery (built in 1897) sits splendidly amongst the vineyards and extensive gardens with a gaggle of geese and numerous species of duck calling the winery grounds their home.

Fruit for Geoff Merrill Wines comes predominantly from company owned vineyards in McLaren Vale, with a few blends receiving some Coonawarra fruit, again from a vineyard Geoff has ownership in.

Our cellar door is open from 10.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, and from 12.00pm to 4.30pm Saturday and Sunday.
