The Rose Revolution

There has been a huge amount of buzz on Twitter recently about the Rose Revolution. It's a series of events to promote the dry, savoury and textural style of Rose that so many wineries are producing so well. The initial event was a series of Tweetups around the country on Tuesday night hosted by a number of wineries, restaurants and bars. The idea was for it to be a light, fun and irreverent way of enjoying and learning about different Roses.

The Melbourne event hosted by Miss Pearls of Madame Brussels and Ben Edwards of The Wine Guide. Aside from the 30 odd guests were a few of the featured winemakers — Adam Foster and Lincoln Riley of Foster e Rocco and Tess from Port Phillip Estate, maker of the wonderful Salasso.

It was a great night, a great idea and a perfect way to see a wonderful cross section of Australian Rose. Thanks again to Miss Pearls, Ben Edwards and to De Bortoli Wines for making it all happen.

Following are a few of the photos taken on the night.
