What is terroir?
Terroir is the french word meaning a sense of place. In wine parlance this generally refers to the climate, soil and region that the wine comes from. Here at terroir.me we believe it is much more.
We believe that that wine comes as much from the people as it does the soil. All too often the winemakers are treated like rockstars but vineyard managers, pickers, pruners and cellar door staff all have a hand in making great wine.
We also believe that learning and experiencing about wine is best done at the cellar door and amongst the vineyards of each region. We think that all too often tourists go to the big flashy cellar doors when the best experiences happen in the small family-owned wineries; where you speak to the people who have the real passion.

The idea of this website is to help people experience everything that the wine country has to offer. We've built a wine tour planning tool that makes this easy.
